William Corrigan has been appointed as the new crop protection sales manager for Corteva Agriscience, the agriculture division of DowDuPont.
He took post on 1 June, stepping into the role vacated by John Humphreys who will retire at the end of 2018. John has been with Dow AgroSciences – one of the three Corteva heritage companies – for the past seven years.
William grew up on a mixed livestock and arable farm in County Kildare and joined Dow’s technical team in 2010 after completing a research Masters at University College Dublin.
He has risen through the ranks holding regional and national business roles, most notably as the product manager for fungicides which included the first introduction to Inatreq Active in the UK and Ireland.
William returns to the UK after leading the Irish business for four years and will oversee both the key account management and area management teams for the UK and Ireland.
“This is a very exciting time for the business with an unparalleled product pipeline being developed for UK and Irish farmers,” William said.
“We have key milestones ahead of us delivering a full and exciting pipeline of products for UK and Irish farmers. My role is to ensure we have a talented, professional team on the ground to maximise the impact of these innovations.
“We want to work with progressive, modern farming businesses and their advisors to understand more about the challenges they face and the solutions we need to develop for them.”
Corteva’s current and future pipeline includes a recently-approved fungicide for late blight in potatoes – Zorvec Enicade – a game changing oilseed rape herbicide and new insecticides, cereal fungicides and herbicides.
