HE-VA has launched Grass-Combi, a grassland rejuvenator that can also work as a stubble harrow and cover crop establishment tool.
Up front, there is the choice of rigid levelling bars or sprung Shattaboard paddles to deal with molehills, carrying soil with it to backfill dips. In cereals, these paddles will also crop residue to even out chaff and straw.
Three rows of hydraulically adjustable circular 12mm spring tines follow this, which rip out dead organic matter and open the sward for fresh growth. The scratch effect also creates a micro-tilth for establishment and generating small amounts of nitrogen mineralisation.
At the rear of the frame, four height-adjustable wheels are mounted. These provide depth control and can be fitted with a rear linkage to enable the towing of a following roller.
The Grass-Combi can also be fitted with a Stocks Ag Turbo-Jet 8 seed applicator, with a high-output electric fan and the i-CON control system. The unit is available in a 6m working width, folding to 2.5m for transport.
