IAgrM conference speaker line-up announced

A strong list of speakers is lined up for the Institute of Agricultural Management (IAgrM) conference to be held at the QE II Centre in London on 7th November.

Under the theme of ‘Intelligent Management for the Future’, keynote speakers include Máximo Torero, chief economist at the food and agriculture organisation of the UN, Jack Bobo, centre lead and director of food systems institute at Nottingham University, John Shropshire, chairman of G’s Fresh Group, Ed Ford from Dyson Farming and Ken Sloan, vice chancellor at Harper Adams.

John Deere US vice-president of business innovation Matt Percy is flying in and farmers David Jones from Hatton Bank Farm and sisters Kate and Vicky Morgan from East Yorkshire, a hands-on point of view on how they manage farms leveraging both high quality people and automation and innovation.

IAgrM national director Victoria Bywater says: “With the rise of agri tech and AI business models, changes to the way support payments are made, disruption to supply chains, as well as changing consumer behaviours, it is clear we are going to need to be able to manage our farms and supply chains even more intelligently than we have done in the past, issue that the conference will address.
