As traders assess the opening few days of Trump’s second term in office it has been another quiet week for markets.
The latest AHDB Grain Market Report shows UK feed wheat futures (May-25) at £190.50/t, the Nov-25 contract currently at £195.50/t.
After earlier in the week saying he may not immediately impose trade sanctions, on his first full day in office he warned of tariffs being imposed on the EU and China. Despite the uncertainty downward pressure was alleviated over concerns on US winter wheat conditions due to low temperatures.
Rapeseed prices didn’t move much over the same period either. Paris rapeseed futures (May-25) fell slightly to €532.75/t, the Nov-25 contract stands at €488.75/t.
Again traders await news on changes to the trading relationship between the US and China, but offering some support to markets is weather concerns in South America.
