The latest tractor registration data from the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) is a possible sign of the financial pressure the industry faces.
Tractor registration for February slumped to a 25 year low with just 300 machines sold. That’s 37.1% lower than the same month last year, and just over half of the seasonal average.
It is the lowest figure recorded for any month since December 1999, and means that the 2025 total is currently just 762 machines, 20% lower than the same period for the opening two months.
However, the AAEA highlights that this is a typically quiet time of the year for tractor registrations, so is reluctant to comment on potential trends until after March, which is normally the year’s peak month.
