New landforming technology from PTx Trimble

PTx Trimble has launched WM-FieldForm, it’s next generation technology for landforming, grading and levelling to improve water movement across land.

It provides single scraper control to form field surfaces and is the first water management system to use the Precision-IQ application in the latest GFX-1260 display for improved visualisation and faster auto-design.

“We know farmers are looking for products and tools that can help them do more with less, which is why we’ve invested in WM-FieldForm to continue our legacy of water management innovation and development,” said Andrew Sunderman, general manager of PTx Trimble.

“With new features, updated functionality, and even more importantly, advanced water management technologies it helps farmers to improve the accuracy and impact of land forming projects and optimise water distribution across their fields.”

Farmers will be able to use tools such as the WM-Survey II app to create topographic surveys using RTK measurements, with boundaries, interior points and calculations to report the true size of the field.

This data can be imported into the WM-Form design software to create field surface drainage designs, defining primary and cross slopes and the preferred grades for more complex field requirements.

Alternatively, the data can remain in WM-FieldForm in the display to create best-fit surface designs using Autoplane technology. As part of the company’s commitment to retrofit solutions, the new system will integrate with the GFX-1260 and the NAV-900 guidance controller.
