James Rimmer of VCS (UK) was crowned Agronomist of the Year at the prestigious National Arable and Grassland Awards in London last week.
Mr Rimmer started life in farm management in 2007 and started to do his own agronomy he then found himself doing more and more for local farmers which led to a new career path. In 2016 he started work with CCC Ltd and recently has taken on a new role with VCS (UK) concentrating on vegetable, potato and arable agronomy, with a particular focus on regenerative options. He now looks after 10400 hectares of arable land.
Speaking at the awards Mr Rimmer said: “I am absolutely delighted to win this award, It is the culmination of a lot of hard work, not forgetting the support from a group of fantastic clients.”
