CF Fertilisers, headquartered in Cheshire, have appointed Nick Ericson as Head of Sales and Dr George Fisher as Head of Marketing, moves which are part of an initiative to align the company with today’s changing agricultural landscape.
“These are challenging times for everybody in the agricultural industry as we move to more sustainable farming systems,” said Sam Bell, who became the company’s Commercial Director earlier this year.
“Nitrogen fertiliser has an ongoing and essential role to play in addressing future global food demand and CF’s continued investment in research, manufacturing efficiency and knowledge exchange is essential in developing this responsibly and effectively.”
Mr Ericson, who has held senior strategic roles for CF in the US, added that a key element of future commercial development will be integrating the company’s regional commercial teams, agronomy resources and distributor partners more closely.
“Obviously we want to maximise the reach and availability of ‘blue bag’ products across the UK and key to this will be sharing knowledge and insight across the supply chain to help customers adapt to changing crop production requirements,” he said.
“All our products currently have fully declared carbon footprints and produce the highest levels of Nitrogen fertiliser Use Efficiency (NfUE) on-farm and it is this balance of environmental responsibility and superior production efficiency that underpins our commercial product offering.”
Dr Fisher, who has an established ‘science into practice’ background, said his new role will be as much about identifying future production requirements as communication.
