Last week saw the Port of Dundee take delivery of its largest ever shipment of liquid nitrogen destined for use by a growing number of Scottish farmers.
The Rubino, carrying 10,000 tonnes of liquid nitrogen raw material (UAN), has discharged directly into OMEX Agriculture’s dedicated processing, storage and distribution terminal located at the port. The site represents a significant part of the company’s strategic liquid nitrogen and sulphur distribution network available to UK farmers, providing national coverage and local service. The record-breaking delivery, mirrors OMEX’s delivery into the port of Ipswich in November, which also marked the port’s largest vessel of liquid nitrogen there.
OMEX opened its Dundee terminal in 2018 in direct response to continued interest from Scottish growers looking to switch over to a liquid fertiliser system. The company’s dedicated support on the ground, robust distribution network, as well as its comprehensive portfolio of plant nutrition products, flexible storage options and excellent service from haulage partner Harry Lawson of Broughty Ferry, means that OMEX will continue to support the growth in demand from Scottish farmers now and into the future.
