SoilPoint Humic has entered into a three-way partnership with insurance provider Cornish Mutual Assurance and Terrafarmer Agriculture to trial SoilPoint’s Soil Booster on five farms in the South West of England.
At the end of the trial, the parties will review the results and discuss a commercial arrangement to distribute the product more widely to Cornish Mutual’s Farming Member base in the South-West of England.
Soil Booster is approved by the UK Soil Association and certified for use in organic and conventional farming. Trials conducted in other countries have shown Soil Booster can repair damaged topsoil, replacing or considerably reducing the need for synthetic fertilisers. A natural, humic-based soil conditioner, SoilPoint claims it can boost crop yields by up to 30% or more.
Alan Forrester, CEO at SoilPoint UK says the trial gives SoilPoint a flying start to its entry into the UK farming market. “Cornish Mutual and Terrafarmer have a deep understanding of the science of soil health and the needs of British farmers. This endorsement of SoilPoint’s Soil Booster is encouraging, and we look forward to working with farms across the UK to help them increase yields and reduce their reliance on synthetic fertilisers.”
Terrafarmer general manager Sam Collins adds: “Following a review of the trial results, we hope to look at how we might further support UK farmers and SoilPoint’s aspirations for the UK market.”
