- Syngenta and Hazera reach agreement on entire leek seeds portfolio
- Leek seeds customers to benefit from greater innovation
Syngenta and Hazera have announced an agreement under which Hazera will take over the Syngenta leek seeds portfolio, effective July 1, 2017.
Both companies are global leaders in vegetable seeds and have worked together on a number of licensing agreements.
Ruud Kaagman, Head Large Seeds Vegetables, Roots & Bulbs at Syngenta, noted: “Syngenta is committed to investing in vegetable seeds and ensuring that our customers get the innovation and service they need in what is a very specialist industry.
“We have a strategic program of in- and out- licensing. This agreement for leek seeds will benefit customers – Hazera will have a stronger combined leek seeds portfolio, and they are committed to investing in this important crop.”
Wim van der Heijden, global product manager Root & Bulb at Hazera, said: “With the fruitful cooperation between Syngenta and Hazera, Hazera is better able to serve the quickly changing needs of leek seeds customers worldwide. This agreement is in line with our Root & Bulb program.”
Syngenta currently sells leek seeds in Europe in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland and Spain.
