The world’s first spring green harvester will be on show in the UK next month.
GRIMME will give UK growers their first chance to see the innovative new harvester in January, not at LAMMA as people might expect but in Lancashire.
The harvester will take centre stage at the GRIMME UK Vegetable Products Open Day on 18th January, which will be hosted by the company’s Premium Partner in the North West, Malpas Tractors.
The Spring Green Harvester (or the PO-335-SG) is the first ever mechanised solution for harvesting spring greens and borrows some of the technology found in the ASA-LIFT PO-335 Leek Harvester to ensure gentle handling.

A side-mounted machine, the PO-335-SG cuts in a single row and presents the spring greens onto an inspection belt before landing them into boxes via the side elevator. The harvester also features automatic height control and an inspection table, which can be easily adjusted for different-sized crops. A hydraulic elevator for unloading on the move is also provided.
Orders for the Spring Green Harvester can be placed now for delivery in time for the 2023 harvest.
“Until now, if someone wanted to harvest Spring Greens, they would have to employ people to do so by hand,” says Rob Wilkinson, Vegetable Product specialist at GRIMME UK. “Now, thanks to GRIMME’s ingenuity, growers can reduce their labour costs and the time needed to harvest their Spring Greens. We think the PO-335-SG will attract a lot of interest, and we’re really looking forward to showing it to people at our January Open Day.”
As well as the new harvester, GRIMME UK’s technical team will be at Malpas Tractors’ Lathom branch promoting the company’s full range of sugar beet, leeks, onion and potato machines and offering complimentary refreshments.
