Kuhn Farm Machinery has upgraded its range of trailed orchard and vineyard sprayers, offering a new base model, new tank sizes and easier operation.

The new entry-level PDF 2 rear suction model offers a round or V-shaped fan. The range also features manual control of each side of the sprayer, whereas the GEO and Antis ranges are both electrically regulated with two sections each side. Users benefit from a fully galvanised frame to improve longevity, while a choice of three drawbars will improve manoeuvrability in tight rows and headlands.

A high-pressure Annovi Reverberi 120l/min pump, with manual pressure adjustment, is standard on the PDF 2 sprayers. All PDF 2 models are rear suction to offer a higher suction capacity and maintain simplicity. Two round fan models – 750mm and 850mm – for targeting high canopies, have optional air straighteners and deflectors, with 12 nozzles and a maximum air flow rate on the 850mm of 41,300 m3/h. A single V-shaped rear suction option for increased precision also has an 850mm fan, 16 nozzles, and includes air straighteners as standard.

Edd Fanshawe, product specialist, notes that there is a wider choice available for customers. “The introduction of the PDF models adds an easy to use and uncomplicated sprayer for simple and accurate application to the range.

“The increasing number of vineyards and orchards in the UK means these new models will be ideal for new plantations, or growers looking to control application timings, rather than relying on a contractor.”

This joins the existing Geo 2 rear suction and Antis 2 front suction higher specification models. Edd Fanshawe,

It features manual control of each side, as opposed to the electrically controlled Geos and Antis ranges. The construction includes a fully galvanised frame and there is a choice of drawbars to suit the layout of plantations.

As standard, a high-pressure Annovi Reverberi 120 litre/min pump, with manual adjustment, is fitted.

The company has also added a choice of polyethene tanks for the Antis 2 and Geo 2, as well as the mid-range Antis M 2 and Geo M 2 machines. These are available in 1,000, 1,500 or 2,000 litre capacities.
