Leeb sprayers upgraded with new precision tech

Horsch is updating its Leeb sprayer range with a series of precision farming updates, available for both new and existing machines.

Available now is AutoSelect Pro, which has been updated to include curve compensation. Already offering automatic nozzle control, this switches the nozzles based on the operational speed and adapts the working height of the boom.

With curve compensation, the application rate is adjusted automatically during cornering. The quantity of the product is increased on the outside of the curve and reduced on the inside.

Sprayers already equipped with AutoSelect can be upgraded to AutoSelect Pro.

The company is also in the process of developing its spot spraying technologies, based on the PrecisionSpray pulse width modulation system.

Horsch is currently researching green on brown (GOB) and green on green (GOG) weed detection systems and carrying out trials with different camera manufacturers.

The aim is to adapt the technology to suit different areas of the world. Dry regions such as Australia have a big market for GOB, removing weeds from stubble.

While GOG is harder to implement due to the small differentiation between weeds and emergent crops, it is predicted to be important for northern Europe.
