Ascenso has announced new very high flexion (VF) tyres for both tractors and implements.
Fifty sizes across the two ranges will be available from launch, with a further 13 sizes added in the next three months. “The introduction of the V-range reflects the changing expectations that farmers have of their tyres,” says Dhaval Nanavati, CEO of Ascenso Tyres.
“They’ve always demanded a lot – load capacity, traction, transition between field and road use without compromise, exceptional wear and durability – but these days there is added expectation around factors such as fuel efficiency, soil health and changing tillage practices, aspects directly addressed by this new generation VF technology.”
He adds that the new Advance Tread Design on the VDR2000 tractor tyre, with a wider and longer footprint when operating at low pressures, will enable more lugs to engage with the soil at the same time to improve traction and minimise slippage.
“Equally, new lug geometry ensures greater overlap of lugs, which leads to a smoother, more comfortable road ride, and the unique mud breakers on these tyres provide excellent self-cleaning properties” he points out.
The VIR2500 implement tyre includes a new block-type tread pattern, with a centre rib to improve steering capability and lateral traction.
Both the tractor and implement tyres include a strong casing, with steel belts to improve the stiffness of the carcass. “Our focus on longer tyre life is also behind the development of the new Special Stubble Resistant (SSR) compound,” notes Mr Nanavati. “The rapid adoption of no-till and min-till practices mean more operations now take place in stubble fields, increasing the wear and tear potential on tyres.”
“Both the VDR2000 tractor tyre and the VIR2500 implement tyre are fabricated from SSR, a technical rubber compound that offers vastly improved protection in the field, reducing the downtime caused by punctures or other tyre damage.”
