Following a slow autumn, December tractor registrations of over 50hp were 10.4% higher than during the same month in 2022, according to the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA).
Although December sales were lower than the five-year average, it helped push the total number of machines registered in 2023 up to 11,816. This is an increase year-on-year of 2% and slightly above the recent average.
The AEA notes that the UK tractor market has been stable in recent years with annual registrations falling between 11,580 and 12,040 in six of the last seven years, the exception being the COVID-impacted year of 2020.
