Lincolnshire dealer Irelands Farm Machinery has employed Cheffins to conduct an onsite auction on the 28th of February, following a succession plan that will safeguard the future of the dealership.

Founders Jonathan and Fiona Ireland are planning to step back from the day-to-day management and will hand the reins to an experienced young team with the enthusiasm to drive the business forward.

This move has led to a restructuring of the hire fleet, offering the chance to sell tractors, telehandlers and other machinery through the auction.

Jonathan Ireland said that the decision to retire has been made easier as the existing team wants to be part of Irelands for years to come. “We are both extremely happy with the decision. Most of the new management team have been with us for several years and have taken responsibility from an early age at the sharp end of the business. They have become experienced in many aspects and, most importantly, they have our trust.

“Following this decision, and after much deliberation, we have decided to restructure the hire side of the business, streamlining and selling some of our current stock of tractors, forklifts and implements, along with machines that we had planned to replace and update later this year. The hire business will still operate, and the reorganisation of our fleet will be beneficial for the new team.”

Irelands Farm Machinery has been operating since 1994, selling major brands such as Kubota, Bunning, Stewart, Kverneland and Spearhead among several others, now running three depots across Lincolnshire.

The sale will include 20 John Deere and Kubota tractors, going up to 250hp. Four JCB telehandlers, 16 trailers and a range of implements will fill out the sale. The sale will take place on the 28th of February at Irelands’ Carrington depot. For more information go to www.cheffins.co.uk
