ADM Agriculture has announced the appointment of James Barlow as head of seed from 1 May 2020.
In this role Barlow will lead ADM Agriculture’s expanding seed business, working closely with plant breeders and end users to access the best varieties for farmer customers across the UK.
Barlow, aged 27, started his career at Gleadell Agriculture as a farm trader, before progressing the role of retail seed manager. During this time he has gained full BASIS and FACTS qualifications as well as becoming a licensed crop inspector.
He grew up on a family farm in Nottinghamshire and studied Agriculture and Environment at Lincoln University, while working as a sales representative for a farm machinery dealership covering the East Midlands and working on the family farm.
Barlow will succeed Chris Guest, who is leaving ADM Agriculture in May to head LS Plant Breeding’s UK business.
