In support of building regional relationships through offering the best in expertise, Agrovista is pleased to announce the appointment of Driffield-based Agronomist, Dan Janney.
Dan, who studied Agriculture at Bishop Burton College, began his career at Eurofins in a trials-based role before joining Frontier as a Trainee Agronomist.
Having gained BASIS and FACTS qualifications, and nine years of experience, he now joins Agrovista as part of the Yorkshire team.
“To become a career agronomist has long been my dream, having worked hard to build up my business from scratch,” said Dan.
“I was ready for a new challenge, so when the opportunity arose to join Agrovista, it was the perfect chance to reinvigorate what I do and look at my work with a new perspective.
“Furthermore, the work Agrovista does within soil health really resonates with me, the company is leading within that area of agronomy. I’m really looking forward to contributing to that and developing it further.”
Despite being from a non-farming background, it was helping on a local farm at weekends that first gave Dan a flavour for agronomy.
Now, as an experienced agronomist, his passion has become nutrient planning to ensure that crops have a health start from the very beginning.
Dan, who enjoys playing ice hockey, added: “Everything builds from the soil upwards, so it’s great to be part of a team who share that mindset.”
