On a glittering night in the House of Commons for the Food and Farming Industry Awards organised by Farm Business magazine, Andrew Goodison of Hutchinsons carried off the award for Agronomist of the Year.
Andrew has a wealth of knowledge and expertise as an agronomists stretching over 30 years and now acts a trainer and mentor to others. He currently offers agroomy and strategic advice on behalf of Hutchinsons across a range of farms in Herefordshire covering 7,000 hectares.
Andrew has numerous qualifications to his name culminating in the BASIS diploma in Agronomy. He is a valued member of various steering groups, including AHDB monitor farms and Herefordshire NFU as well as soil health management groups. Andrew believes it is always about looking at the bigger picture and taking into consideration what is above and below the ground, when considering the best options.
As one of his custmers said of him: “No matter what the problem is, if he doesn’t know the answer he knows someone who does. No problem is too small for him.”
