Dimix®, a blight-controlling fungicide from Arysta LifeScience, has now been launched in the UK & Ireland.
The product, which contains dimethomorph, is used to prevent and cure potato late blight – the single most important potato disease affecting growers worldwide.
The flexibility of Dimix means the product can be used throughout the season, but is most effective when used during the early stages of tuber formation. It is for use in a tank mixture with an approved contact fungicide.
Don Pendergrast, Arysta LifeScience Product Development & Technical Manager for UK & Ireland, said: “We are delighted to successfully register and launch Dimix.
“Blight is a devastating disease, but by applying fungicides such as Dimix which is highly mobile in the plant, growers stand the greatest chance of protecting new growth and tuber formation.
“This is a great complementary addition to our existing potato product portfolio, which includes a range of fungicides, herbicides and PGRs.”
Dimethomorph works by disrupting the formation of the fungal cell wall. It is systemically translocated upwards in the plant and through the leaves, with local systemicity when applied to foliage.
