For the first time in the UK, a fungicide containing fluoxastrobin is now available for the control of sclerotinia in winter oilseed rape.
Evito® T by Arysta LifeScience combines fluoxastrobin with tebuconazole for an enhanced performance and improved resistance management.
This new product contributes considerably to the chemistry available to growers for the control of sclerotinia, which can cause devastating yield losses if left untreated.
Arysta LifeScience Product Development & Technical Manager for UK & Ireland, Don Pendergrast, said: “Evito T combines a ‘next generation’ strobilurin with one of the best triazoles available, to rapidly stop sclerotinia and provide long-term protection.
“Fluoxastrobin, which was previously unavailable for application on oilseed rape, penetrates rapidly into the leaf enhancing the speed of activity. Trials show that it’s absorbed into the leaf so rapidly that rainfastness is demonstrated within 15 minutes of application. It also has a strong greening effect on the plant.
“Pairing this with highly effective fungicide tebuconazole, offers growers the added benefit of improved resistance management. We are delighted to bring Evito-T to the UK market as a new launch that will enhance the existing chemistry available.”
Growers are encouraged to apply the product preventatively, to capitalise on its extended persistency and protectant properties. It presents growers with a new leading fungicide for use during the oilseed rape flowering stage.
