UK based vegetable handling machinery manufacturer Haith is preparing for its 15th appearance at Interpom | Preneurs next month.
The company which supplies the UK’s most extensive range of handling, washing, drying, grading and processing equipment will be promoting its full range at the event, but its stand will be dominated by the latest version of its Direct Drive Potato Dryer, which has recently benefitted from several enhancements.
Axial fans are now mounted above the crop to aid drying; a unique patented Haith drive coupling has been introduced for easy and quick roller removal; and pintle rollers on the in-feed remove excess water and debris such as loose skin from new season potatoes. The Direct Drive Dryer also features independent motors on each shaft that are controlled via an energy-efficient inverter. The direct motor drive designed by Haith also removes the problems associated with chain/belt drive machines.
“Our Direct Drive Potato Dryer is an innovative and efficient machine that is incredibly popular across Europe. In fact, we’ve recently sold our 65th machine to a company in Belgium, and hopefully, we will be meeting up with them at the show.”
As well as its new customer, Haith’s will also be joined at Interpom | Preneurs by its Dutch agent Murre Technologies and automation partner, Deprez.
Taking place between 25th and 27th November, Interpom | Preneurs is one of the most important events of the year for the European potato and vegetable industry.
“We first attended Interpom in 2004, and so this will be our 15th show. It’s always been an excellent event, as it covers the whole supply chain, from cultivation to processing and marketing. With over 20,000 people visiting the show, we simply have to be there,” adds Mr Hill. “We’ve always had great interest in our machines at the event, and we’re expecting this year to be no different. Even with the uncertainty of Brexit, we’re enjoying an excellent level of enquiries and orders from European farmers, growers and food processors looking for innovative, effective, well made and long-lasting machines.”
