Massey Ferguson has receive a Finalist Award for its 95hp, MF 3709 AL in the Tractor of the Year 2020 ‘Best of Specialised’ category, at a special ceremony at the Agritechnica Show.
“We are always honoured when one of our tractors is nominated for the finals of this prestigious award. This is because the nomination comes from the jury of 25 technical journalists from across Europe. We are flattered these experts, who see every farm machinery innovation, have judged the MF 3709 AL is worthy of being considered for such an award,” says Thierry Lhotte, Vice-President & Managing Director, Massey Ferguson Europe & Middle East
At 95hp, the MF 3709 AL heads the three-model, MF 3700 AL range, which is designed specifically to combine stability and comfort with a high specification for those working in mountainous and challenging terrain, out in the field or around the farmyard. It’s also perfect for working in large wine applications as well as forestry, municipal and amenity applications.
The tractors are equipped to Massey Ferguson’s ‘Efficient’ specialist tractor high specification, which includes greater hydraulic flow, unique electronic multi-function joystick and electronically controlled linkage and spool valves.
The spacious and comfortable 1.4m wide cab is available in two formats to suit all operations. As standard, with a flat floor, this measures 2.53m high, while this can be reduced to just 2.44m with the low profile option on 420/85 R30 tyres.
All MF 3700 AL models are powered by a straightforward 3.4 litre, four-cylinder engine that does not require any AdBlue. Depending on model, this generates 75hp, 85hp and 95hp on the MF 3709 AL.
Massey Ferguson’s sector-leading 24/12 PowerShuttle transmission, equipped with SpeedShift – a two-speed powershift – is standard on all models. This provides eight clutchless changes in three ranges, which are changed simply using buttons on the gear lever.
The unique Multifunction joystick also provides comprehensive transmission and hydraulic control. Mounted on the right-hand console, this operates the front linkage, spool valves and transmission functions including direction changes, powershift steps and a declutch button.
Its strong chassis and 3t capacity, electronically operated three-point linkage make the MF 3700 AL Series strong in-field performers. A 540/540E PTO is standard, while a number of options make it suitable to power a range of implements, including those requiring a ground-speed PTO.
With a maximum flow of 95 litres/min dedicated to the auxiliary hydraulics, there is plenty of hydraulic performance to operate a loader and to power the most modern implements. Two electro-hydraulic spool valves are standard, while there is an option for up to four, including front and mid-mounting points.
