National Arable and Grassland Awards winners celebrated in style

The winners of the 2025 National Arable and Grassland Awards (NAGA) have been announced, deserved recognition after a particularly challenging season.

Over 300 guests enjoyed a stylish three-course meal, fine wines, entertainment from farmer and comedian Jim Smith and an afterparty at the London Hilton Bankside Hotel. Organised by Agronomist & Arable Farmer magazine and Farm Contractor & Large Scale Farmer in association with the National Association of Agricultural Contractors (NAAC) and BASIS the awards are in their fourth year.

As in previous years, the quality of the entrees was impressive making it a tough call for the judges. Head judge Meurig Raymond told the audience that all the finalists had demonstrated outstanding skill and dedication, and all should be proud of what they had achieved given the various challenges the sector faces. But the judges could only pick one winner.

The winners are:

  • Agronomist of the Year. Kathryn Ann Styan, Agrii.
  • Cereal Grower of the Year.  Richard and Lyn Anthony, R&L Anthony
  • Contractor of the Year. Neil Fell, N R Fell Mobile Sheep Dipping
  • Farm Manager of the Year. Simon Andrews, Porchester Farms
  • Fruit Grower of the Year & Grower of the Year. Harry Hall, Hunter Hall Partnership
  • Grassland Grower of the Year. Andrew & Claire Brewer, F&G Brewer
  • Oilseed Grower of the Year. Richard Budd, Stevens Farm (Hawkhurst) Ltd
  • Outstanding Achievement Award. Lord Curry
  • Protein Crop Grower of the Year. Guy Prudum, P Prudom & Son Ltd
  • Sustainable Farming Award. Ellen Firth, Firth Flock Flowers
  • Young Agronomist of the Year. Ben Allard, Pearce Seeds
  • Young Farmer of the Year. Kyle Catlin, Catlin Contracting

Hunter Hall Partnership also won the prestigious Grower of the Year Award.
