Thoresby Farming, based on the Thoresby Estate, near Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, will host the 2024 British National Ploughing Championships on the 12th and 13th of October.

Around 250 ploughmen and women are expected to take part, hailing from all parts of Great Britain and competing in 15 different classes. Each will strive to win the championship in their chosen category, along with the title of Supreme Champion.

One of the highlights is expected to be the heavy horse category, with sixteen pairs ploughing side-by-side across both days.

Sue Frith, chief of the Society of Ploughmen, said: “There is terrific enthusiasm in the area and we are delighted that Thoresby Farming have provided a most picturesque site this year, surrounded by trees with free roaming deer. We are a registered charity and our volunteers can’t wait to enjoy the Estate and show off the event in Nottinghamshire.”
