Interagro has appointed a new international supply chain manager to join Interagro Netherlands BV – strengthening the UK-based firm’s global presence.
Bringing 10 years of experience and expertise in international logistics, Ananya Singh joins Interagro Netherlands BV – a subsidiary company of Interagro (UK) Ltd.
Ms Singh is the first employee of Interagro Netherlands BV – based at the office in Utrecht, Netherlands – and will be tasked with further developing strategic relationships with existing and new suppliers of raw material procurement, through to the delivery of the finished products to Interagro’s customer base.
“I have recently moved from India to the Netherlands and have been in the international supply chain industry for more than 10 years. My expertise is in international logistics, export documentation and compliance and I have previously worked for companies including Markem-Imaje and Cargill.
“I am very much looking forward to being part of the Interagro team and working to further develop our European and global strategies.”
This past year in particular has not only brought considerable changes, but it has also been a challenge for many, explains Interagro’s managing director, Emma Ralph.
“The coronavirus pandemic and Brexit brought major challenges to many people and companies, and I believe that at Interagro we are more resilient now than we have ever been due to the obstacles that we have had to overcome – not only on a business level, but on a personal level too.
“As if Covid was not enough, Brexit brought an additional layer of complexity, putting further pressures on our supply chain with logistical challenges, extra paperwork and increased costs of goods.
“But the set-up of Interagro BV (a subsidiary of Interagro UK Ltd) in the Netherlands in 2017 put us one step ahead so that we could serve our customer base more efficiently and cost-effectively and minimise the impact at grower level.”
With Interagro’s continued growth and expansion of its business into Europe and the rest of the world, together with the increasing demand for its adjuvants and biostimulants across the globe, Ananya’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the company, adds Ms Ralph. “With the demand for our adjuvants and biostimulants growing at a fast pace, 2020 has seen further expansion into new territories, including Ghana and Kenya, taking Interagro’s trading territories to 26 – as well as being a leading adjuvant and biostimulant manufacturer in the UK.
“Ananya will play a vital role in driving efficiencies in our supply chain strategies, all the way through from raw material procurement to warehouse deliveries.
“We are excited to have her on board as we enter a new chapter.”
