ADAMA Agricultural Solutions UK Ltd. has appointed Kirsty McKenzie as the company’s regional agronomy manager in central England.
As part of ADAMA’s expanding regional agronomy team, Ms McKensie will provide technical support and advice to growers, agronomists and trade partners in central England to ensure they are able to realise the maximum value and efficacy from ADAMA’s portfolio of crop protection products which includes a wide range of fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and plant growth regulators.
Ms McKensie’s agricultural journey started at college when, alongside her A-Levels, she studied for a Pre-Veterinary Science BTEC. Part of the BTEC course involved working on the college’s livestock farm which led to her deciding to do a degree in Applied Farm Management at the Royal Agricultural University.
Love for agronomy
Her initial aspiration whilst at university was to follow a career in farm consultancy, but in 2017 she accepted a student placement with Bayer as a Field Trials Assistant and her love for agronomy was born.
After graduating in 2018, Ms McKensie joined BASF’s western trials team as a Development Agronomist where she was involved in ensuring the company’s combinable crop and herbicide trials in Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds were performed correctly and to a good standard. During her 3.5 years with BASF, Kirsty also studied for and passed her BASIS training and as such is fully qualified to offer crop protection advice.
