Scotts Precision Manufacturing is aiming to finish its record-breaking year in style with its largest-ever presence at British Potato 2019.
The Lincolnshire manufacturer of vegetable harvesting equipment will have two stands at the Harrogate show in November.
On its outside stand, Scotts will be showcasing its range of haulm toppers; while inside it will be exhibiting its Evolution Separator.
Sales of both toppers and the Evolution have boomed in 2019, with orders up 35% year on year.
Buoyed by the banning of Diquat, sales of Scotts Trinity range of two and three-bed toppers have surged.
Scott’s latest addition to its range of toppers, the Trinity 30B offers a 300cm cutting width, which is broader than previous models and can handle either three 90cm or four 75cm wide rows. Like the Trinity 22B, the new Trinity 30B features quick-change flails for reduced downtime, a broad range of cutting heights, static shear plates to provide a “mulching” effect, a replaceable steel inner liner for hood protection and the largest variation of flail lengths of any topper currently available. The flat and steeply curved flail design offer by far the best suction on the market.
The Evolution Separator, the innovative harvesting machine which quickly and effectively removes clod, stones, haulm and loose soil from a wide range of vegetables, has also seen a dramatic increase in sales, not just in the UK but around the world, with machines being exported to the USA, Belgium, Germany and Holland.
Visitors to Scotts’ stand will be the first to hear about the company’s upgrade plans for its toppers and Evolution and will also be able to take advantage of end of year discounts.
With Scotts celebrating its Silver Anniversary this September, the company will also be running a special on-stand competition offering 25 fantastic, Silver and 25 year themed prizes.
“2019 has been an excellent year for us, and we’re extremely grateful to all our customers who have placed orders with us,” says Derek Scott, managing director of Scotts Precision Manufacturing. “We’re looking forward to seeing many of them in Harrogate, and we’re expecting British Potato to be a great event!”
As well as a dramatic increase in sales, 2019 will be a memorable year for Scotts in other respects too. The company has completed a 6,000 square feet expansion of its Boston factory, allowing it to meet the increased demand for its machines in 2019. Scotts will be staging an open day to officially open the factory following British Potato. Details of the event will be available on the company’s stand.
Established in 1994, as well as the Evolution and Trinity toppers, Scotts also manufactures the VergenAir, an innovative machine that harvests roadside grass cuttings, allowing contractors to sell them to Anaerobic Digestion Plants.
