In recognition of a continued growth strategy following the launch of OpenAg, UPL is delighted to welcome two new members of technical staff to its UK & Ireland team.
Geoff Hailstone and Gregory Hanna have been appointed to provide broader geographical support to distribution partners, key influencers and growers.
Taking on the role of Regional Support Manager for Scotland, Geoff will cover the north including Scotland and Yorkshire, supporting sales and stewardship whilst feeding back to inform product development.
Prior to joining UPL, Geoff attended Leeds University where he studied Agricultural Chemistry. He then joined various ag chem companies in technical and commercial roles covering Scotland and the east of England.
Geoff from North Berwick, East Lothian, said: “I’m very excited to be joining this enthusiastic and dynamic team where there is a real attitude of finding creative solutions to the many problems currently facing growers and the trade.
“UPL’s portfolio is very diverse, covering a wide range of crops and product types with some novel chemistry and bio-solutions in the pipeline.
“I hope I can use my experience and knowledge of crop protection and production, and of the market in northern Britain, to help UPL in its next phase of growth.”
Greg joins the team having worked previously for legacy company Arysta LifeScience, as EMEA Technical Manager for Seed Treatments. He has now taken on the role of Technical Specialist, providing technical support for seed treatments, and well as coordinating the UK team’s trial programme. Prior to joining Arysta LifeScience, Greg worked for Eurofins and OAT, conducting field trials, and attended the University of Exeter, studying Biological Science.
Greg from Warwick, said: “I’m very excited to begin my new role and join the UK team. Thanks to my former role, I have already developed good relationships with my new colleagues.
“But most of all, I am looking forward to getting out in the field again and interacting with customers.”
Commenting on the new appointments, Country Manager Alan du Rieu, said: “These appointments provide support across a range of crops from arable through to horticulture.
“I believe we have made two great appointments – Geoff and Greg bring proven agronomy skills and experience in delivering a technical platform to our key partners. This is pivotal in supporting our new company purpose, OpenAg.”
