HiSpec Engineering has introduced a unique new Dump Trailer that uses the push-off technology originally designed for the company’s Kompactor range of push-off trailers. The new HiSpec PD20 Push-off Dump Trailer, which will be displayed for the first time in the UK at this year’s Royal Highland Show, has a heaped load volume of 14.5m3, giving it a carrying capacity of around 20 tonnes, depending on material.
Moving floor headboard
The PD20 Dump Trailer is offloaded using a hydraulically operated moving floor type headboard that has a push-off capacity of 28,000kg. This has the benefit that the trailer can be safely offloaded on slopes and uneven ground, or where there are height restrictions. Unlike a conventional tipping trailer, turn-around time is also reduced due to not needing to wait for the trailer body to lower, and by not having rams and hinge points, the trailer body sits lower, so reducing load height and the centre of gravity, making it more stable on the road.
